Children's Education Fundamental For Human Capital Development

PUTRAJAYA, June 19 (Bernama) -- Children's education is fundamental for human capital development, which is why it is crucial for countries to share experiences via smart partnerships to ensure the young get quality education, said the Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

"Children's education is a very important component of human capital development to prepare the next generation to take care of the country and the world," she said on the sidelines of the Ninth Langkawi International Dialogue 2011 (LID 2011) here Sunday.

Rosmah, who accompanied Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to the opening the Ninth Langkawi International Dialogue 2011 (LID 2011), said she would give her inputs whenever possible.

"Whenever possible, I will probably go and accompany them," she told Bernama referring to the LID programme for spouses.

One of the spouses programme is a visit to Permata Pintar, a programme aimed to unearth talents among children aged between seven and 18 in the field of research.

Rosmah is the patron of "Permata Negara", which runs the "Permata Pintar" programme.
