National Education Convoy 2017 To Begin In Johor Tomorrow

JOHOR BAHRU, May 15 (Bernama) -- The National Education Convoy 2017 which will travel to every state in the peninsula from tomorrow has been deemed as a platform to identify the direction of national education to ensure success of the National Transformation 2050 (TN50).

Yayasan Minda chairman Tan Sri Prof Dr Ibrahim Shah Abu Shah said input on national education would be collected through a dialogue session to be held with the 1Malaysia Young Teachers (GM1M) in each state.

"No less than 300 young teachers will attend the dialogue in each state, during which they will exchange opinions on their aspirations, issues and concerns.

"Insya-Allah, their input will be taken into consideration," he told Bernama here today.

Ibrahim Shah said the convoy participants would be flagged off by Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid in conjunction with the national-level Teacher's Day celebration at the Educity Sport Complex, Iskandar Puteri here, tomorrow.

The 50-member convoy, which is the first in its series, is being organised jointly by Yayasan Minda and the Federation of Malay Students Union (GPMS) and begin in Johor before heading to Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Selangor and to end in Kuala Lumpur on May 26.

The participants will also be distributing Teacher's Day postcards and button badges to over 5,000 teachers in all the locations.
