UMS, Huawei Pen MoU For Smart Campus

KOTA KINABALU, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in several areas, including the development of smart campus.

The MoU signing ceremony was held in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the Huawei Asia-Pacific Innovation Day 2017, and UMS was represented by its vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr D Kamarudin D Mudin while Huawei was represented by Huawei's rotating CEO, Guo Ping.

The ceremony was witnessed as Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan.

D Kamarudin in a statement here today said, Huawei\'s willingness to become an industry partner with UMS was most welcome and the cooperation was very important to assist UMS in realising the agenda for the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

"As a university being steered towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0, various initiatives have been and are being planned. These include the development of a digital campus and redesigning the undergraduate curriculum in accordance with the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0," he said.
