Talk to other students whom you notice have good thinking skills. You can also sharpen your thinking skills by taking IQ tests available in books or the Internet, or playing games that require thinking such as word games.

IIUM Confers Honorary Doctorate Of Law On Tun Arifin

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Former Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria today received an Honorary Doctorate of Law at the 33th International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Convocation here.

The award was given in recognition of Arifin's significant contributions towards the many improvements made in the country's legal system besides sharing his knowledge and expertise both locally and abroad.

It was presented by IIUM president Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim at the first session of the three-day convocation starting today at the Main Hall of the IIUM Cultural Centre, Gombak Campus.

A total of 5,165 graduates will receive their respective scrolls at the convocation ceremony this time. Arifin, who served 25 years in the judiciary, joined the civil service as a legal officer in the Prime Minister's Department about 42 years ago before becoming a magistrate in 1976.

He was the Perak State Legal Advisor in 1988 before becoming a Judicial Commissioner in 1992 and a High Court Judge in 1994.

He was appointed Court of Appeal Judge in 2002, Federal Court Judge in 2005 and Chief Judge of Malaya in 2008.

On Sept 12, 2011, he was appointed 13th Chief Justice of Malaysia, replacing Tun Zaki Azmi, before retiring on March 31 this year.
