Eduspec, PKU To Promote Stem Education In China

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 (Bernama) -- Education solutions provider, Eduspec Holdings Bhd, is teaming up with PKU-HKUST Shenzhen-Hong Kong Institution (PKU) to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in China.

In a statement today, Eduspec said it had signed the educational cooperation agreement with PKU today, and the collaboration was for the promotion of Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Academy (CMRA) certified STEM with computer science, as well as STEM with robotics programmes in China's schools.

Chief Executive Officer Lim Een Hong said under the deal, Eduspec would provide PKU with relevant authorisation documents and endorse PKU as the teachers training, student examination and certification centre for STEM programmes in China, including Hong Kong and Macau.

"We will work together with PKU on the STEM programmes in Chinese and publication of the programme's book in China to ensure that it is according to the standards approved by CMRA," he said, adding that the company would also provide PKU with the learning management system.

Meanwhile, PKU would assist Eduspec in marketing the STEM programmes, localisation, printing and publishing 'the books in Chinese, as well as,managing the assessment team and teachers' training in China.

"Certificates will be issued to students who complete the STEM programme based on PKU's assessment," it added.
