UniSZA Signs MoU With 10 Jordanian Universities

KUALA NERUS, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) has recently forged a collaboration with 10 Jordanian universities through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Amman.

Its vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Zubaidi Abdul Latif, who represented UniSZA at the MoU signing ceremony said the collaboration was set to promote UniSZA, especially its postgraduate programmes, to potential students from Jordan.

"We will also collaborate in the field of research and in conducting student and staff exchange programme for mutual benefit. I also hope that through this collaboration, the ties forged between UniSZA and the Jordanian universities will become closer and hence, smoothen the admission process of Jordan students.

"The limited number of PhD programmes available in Jordan and the high currency exchange rate from Dinar Jordan to Ringgit Malaysia, can be among the factors to attract students from Jordan to study at UniSZA," he said in a statement today.

The 10 universities are the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Philadelphia University, Yarmouk University, Al-Zaytoonah University, Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Zarqa University, Arab Amman University, Al-Isra University, Jadara University and the Irbid National University.

Currently, UniSZA has 599 foreign students, 209 of whom are from Jordan pursuing Master's and doctorate degrees.
